Fall River mother charged with abusing infant child
A Fall River woman has been arrested concerning an alleged serious case of child abuse.
According to Detective John Robinson, Fall River Police Department detectives responded to a RI hospital the evening of June 4th at the request of doctors, who reported child abuse.
According to doctors on scene, it is believed that the three month old child had been injured one to three days prior to June 4th.
The attending physician told Det. Cabeceiras that the infant’s injuries were the most severe of that type she had ever treated, saying, “In my twenty years of doing this, this is the worst I’ve seen,”
Thaysa Gagne, 21, of 55 Bogle Street Fall River has been charged with assault and battery of a child causing serious bodily injury, wanton or reckless endangerment of a child and witness intimidation.
