A Fall River middle school student was arrested on Tuesday.

According to School Committee Member Collin Dias, a student at Talbot Middle School made threatening statements, prompting intervention by administrators and security.

The parent was contacted and arrived on scene; however, the student refused to leave the school property with their parent.

Due to noncompliance and safety concerns, law enforcement subsequently arrested the student.

The name of the student and the exact threats that were made were not released.
