Fall River man who gave decades of service to the city passes away
He was a man that gave to the Fall River community over several decades in several capacities. So much so that all of them likely won’t be listed here.
According to friends and family, 60-year-old Jeff Silvia has passed away.
Jeff served the police department as an E911 Telecomunicator and as a dispatcher for police, fire and EMS for 36 years according to FRPD.
Here is a list of some of his other accomplishments.
Current member of the Park Board
Ran for City Council
Worked for the School Department
Referee for CYO Basketball
Baseball coach
Baseball umpire
Massachusetts Little League volunteer officer
On top of what is listed above, Jeff was a well-respected and well-liked member of the community. He was known as a hard worker with a good sense of humor. What he lacked in stature, he made up for with heart.
As the Fall River Police Department said in a statement, “thank you for your dedication to the City of Fall River, rest easy friend, we will take it from here.”
