Fall River man who died in apparent drowning remembered for love of the outdoors as fundraiser announced
A Fall River man who was found deceased after going missing while swimming Wednesday is being remembered.
Plymouth Police responded to a possible drowning just after 2:00 p.m. at Charge Pond in Myles Standish State Forest.
The victim was located at approximately 3:45 p.m. in water that was 17-19 feet deep and was pronounced deceased shortly after.
According to his son and a GoFundMe fundraiser, 52-year-old Jonathan Maynard “was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and someone who truly loved life. He found peace in the outdoors, whether he was hiking, fishing, or simply enjoying a walk in nature. He was a lifelong Boston Bruins and San Francisco 49ers fan, and he also loved spending time playing his favorite video games. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family.”
Maynard’s son told Fall River Reporter that he doesn’t know much more about the incident than what has already been released and that he is trying to raise funds for his father’s expenses while supporting his own young family.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office is investigating.
