A Fall River man has been arrested after a warrant was issued for the suspect in a fatal shooting of a 34-year-old Fall River man.

Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office stated that 32-year-old Kevin Rasheme Barton has been charged in the murder of Joshua Medeiros.

Medeiros was shot on the night of February 9th near the intersection of Nashua and Blackstone Streets.

Medeiros died at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after being on life support for several days due to being shot in the head.

Fall River Reporter saw at least a half dozen evidence cones in the back of the Stop & Shop shortly after the fatal shooting. Family members say over a dozen rounds were fired.

Barton was arrested in Georgia yesterday on a warrant from the May murder indictment.  Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office believes that he was shot by Georgia law enforcement during the incident but is in stable condition.  It is unclear when he will be brought back to Massachusetts for arraignment.

The May 17 indictments charged Barton with murder, carrying an illegal gun, carrying a loaded illegal gun, larceny and possession of a large capacity firearm.

To Bad The Georgia Cops didn’t Shoot Him down & kill Him too! I Believe in An Eye for An Eye. He Shouldn’t Live for Taking Another One’s Life.
