The Fall River police station was vandalized Saturday evening and the suspect in the vandalism was chased by multiple police departments until he was arrested by East Providence Police.

On March 17th at approximately 7:15 p.m., a vehicle pulled into the front parking lot at the Fall River Police Department. The operator exited the vehicle, smashed the exterior lobby door window and returned to his vehicle. Officers exited the Station and ran towards the vehicle. As officers approached, the operator sat up and accelerated away driving over shrubs, snow mounds, curbing, and sidewalk. He then drove across Pleasant Street, north on 16th Street, then west on Bedford Street.

A description of the vehicle and operator were broadcast by radio. The operator, now identified as Bryan Figueroa, 20, was subsequently pursued by Massachusetts State Police and Seekonk Police into Rhode Island where spike strips were deployed. The operator rammed a marked Seekonk Police Cruiser. East Providence Police stopped and detained Figueroa on fugitive from justice charges. A bat with shards of glass embedded in it was located in the vehicle. The incident in Fall River is still under investigation pending conclusion of the Rhode Island investigation.

Figueroa was held on bail and is expected to be in court on Monday.
