Fall River man, two juveniles, charged after large disturbance at New Bedford beach
Three area residents have been charged after another incident at a local beach.
According to New Bedford Police, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to West Beach on W Rodney French Boulevard for a report of a large disturbance involving juveniles.
Upon arrival, officers observed a large group gathered throughout the area, blocking sidewalks, walkways, and entry points. As officers worked to disperse the crowd, two juveniles failed to comply with lawful orders and were taken into custody.
One juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct. A second juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct and carrying a dangerous weapon after officers observed a knife with a blade exceeding 2.5 inches in their waistband.
Additionally, officers arrested 21-year-old Orlando Badillo of Fall River, who was found in possession of an open container of alcohol on the grounds of Hazelwood Park. He was charged with violating a city ordinance.
