Fall River man strikes plea bargain in stabbing death of girlfriend

A Fall River man who was scheduled to be tried in Fall River Superior Court for the 2017 murder of 36-year-old Kristina Reis has struck a plea bargain.

Scott Rego struck the deal last week as his trial was expected to start on May 3rd.

Rego was facing a murder charge, but pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 8 1/2 to 12 1/2 years in prison last week.

Fall River Police responded to 17 Linden Street on May 22nd 2017 and found Reis on the porch of the home, bleeding from a reported stab wound. Reis was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Fall River Police found Rego inside the Linden Street home, that was shared by the couple, suffering from a chest wound. Rego was taken to Saint Anne’s Hospital and then transferred to Rhode Island Hospital.

Rego at the time was charged with murder and was placed under arrest while at Rhode Island Hospital.

    So this young lady loses her life and this a****** gets 8 to 12 1/2 years so now it paid to kills someone shame on the court system

      Thas some bull**** he murdered her n gets a bid like he jus robbed a bank uhh where’s the justice for s*** like this though???🤷
