A local man killed in a late-night motorcycle crash is being remembered.

According to the Rhode Island State Polce, at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, the Rhode Island State Police and Providence Fire Department responded to a reported single-motorcycle crash on Route 195 West at Exit 1C (South Main Street) in Providence.

Upon arrival, troopers determined that the motorcycle had been attempting to take the Exit 1C off-ramp from Route 195 West when the operator lost control and struck a concrete barrier.

The operator, identified as 38-year-old Anthony J. Fiandaca of Fall River, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A good friend of Fiandaca described him as an awesome guy and an amazing friend.

“We were friends for a very long time, and we always had each other’s back. Always giving a helping hand even when he didn’t have it himself. Just a genuine, good person.”

Fiandaca loved cars and BMX bikes. If he wasn’t working on them, he was riding them and well, recently having a good showing at Seekonk Speedway.

His friend told us that “if he wasn’t working on a car, he was probably at a skate park somewhere.”

Services for Fiandaca have not yet been announced.
