Fall River man injured in Rhode Island shooting posts bail after arraignment on gun and robbery charges

A Fall River man was arraigned Thursday and is facing several charges after injuries he sustained from a recent shooting.

Court records show that a criminal complaint was filed by Central Falls Police on Wednesday against 23-year-old Carlos Martinez of Fall River on charges of Felony Assault and/or Battery, Carry Pistol or Revolver Without License or Permit, First Degree Robbery, Felony Assault and/or Battery Firing in a Compact Area, and Disorderly Conduct. The offenses allegedly occurred on Monday.

An arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday, but was continued to Thursday. No plea was entered on Martinez behalf. A bond of $50,000 surety was set and then posted with conditions including a non-domestic no contact order, surrender of his passport, and surrender of his firearm(s).

According to WJAR 10, Martinez was also shot Monday on Garfield Street in Central Falls.

No other details were released.
