Fall River man given $500 bail after crash that injured man, killed his dog
A Fall River man is facing several charges after a crash injured a man and killed his dog.
According to CBS Boston, 36-year-old Pierre Franzie is accused of driving an SUV in Malden that swerved onto a sidewalk, smashed through a fence, and hit a man who was playing with his dog.
The man and dog were rushed to the hospital, however, the dog did not survive.
Franzie allegedly ran from police, before being caught and according to authorities, stated that he was on his way to a job interview and wasn’t driving the vehicle.
At arraignment in Malden District Court, bail was set at $500 for Franzie, who is facing several charges including failure to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, and failure to report injury to a dog or motorist.
