Fall River man dies in early morning fire
A Saturday morning fire has claimed the life of a Fall River resident.
The fire at 4 a.m. was located at 11 Palmer Street.
According to Union President Jason Burns, a fire on Palmer Street claimed the life of a man. A firefighter was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
According to WCVB, an 87 year old veteran died in the fire.
A firefighter fell through the floor and occurred serious injures, but should be ok according to Burns (he is now resting at home and recuperating).
The man’s cat, who had thought to have perished in the fire, has been located.
The fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but both Fall River Fire and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
