Fall River man dies in drowning accident Thursday
A Fall River man has died following a drowning on Thursday.
According to the Dennis Police Department, on July 5 at approximately 4:01 p.m., the Dennis Police Department received a report from Dennis Beach Department personnel at Mayflower Beach (Dennis Village) of a possible drowning. The report was that lifeguards from the Dennis Beach Department were bringing the victim to shore.
A Dennis Police Officer and Dennis Lifeguard performed CPR on the victim, a male, who was then transported to Cape Cod Hospital by the Dennis Fire Department where he was pronounced as deceased.
According to Assistant District Attorney Tara Miltimore, the deceased man has been confirmed as 60 year old Matthew Madeiros of Fall River.
Detectives from the Dennis Police Department are investigating the circumstances of the drowning.
