Fall River man charged with drug and firearm charges, second man arrested on outstanding warrant, drug possession

Fall River Police arrested two men late last week after a drug investigation.

According to police, on Friday, detectives assigned to the Fall River Police Department’s Community Action and Suppression Team (C.A.S.T.) executed a drug-related search warrant on Jackson Street. The target of the investigation was 41-year-old Jason Richard.

During the search, detectives located approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a small quantity of suspected fentanyl, and a Remington 1100 12-gauge shotgun.

Also present inside the residence was 38-year-old Jacob Lemieux, who had active warrants for his arrest and was allegedly found in possession of approximately three grams of methamphetamine.

Richard was arrested and charged with Trafficking in methamphetamine-18 grams or more, Possession of a Class A substance, and Firearm-related offenses.

Lemieux was arrested on his outstanding warrants and charged with possession of a Class B substance.

Court records show that at arraignment Monday in Fall River District Court, Richard pled not guilty and was being held after not posting $20,000 surety bond or $2,000 cash bail.

Lemieux pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
