Fall River man arrested twice in 6 months for drug trafficking sentenced to prison

A Fall River man has pled guilty on drug trafficking charges.

According to Fall River Police, on May 8th, C.A.S.T. detectives executed a search warrant on Bank Street. The target of the investigation, 45-year-old Angel Alvarado, was taken into custody after detectives seized approximately 28.35 grams of fentanyl and 18.58 grams of crack cocaine from the residence.

Alvarado had been charged with Trafficking Heroin/Morphine/Opium (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams) and Trafficking Cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams).

The arrest marked the second time in six months that Alvarado had been apprehended by C.A.S.T. for drug trafficking. On December 11, 2024, he was previously arrested after investigators seized 25.94 grams of crack cocaine and 6.7 grams of fentanyl. Charges in that case included multiple counts of trafficking and distribution, as well as tampering with evidence.

According to court records, on Tuesday, Alvarado pled guilty and was sentenced to not less than 3 years to not more than 5 years in state prison with credit for 278 days already served.
