Fall River man arrested for second time in six months for drug trafficking

The Fall River Police Department arrested a city man on drug trafficking charges this week.
According to police, on Thursday, C.A.S.T. detectives executed a search warrant on Bank Street. The target of the investigation, 45-year-old Angel Alvarado, was taken into custody after detectives seized approximately 28.35 grams of fentanyl and 18.58 grams of crack cocaine from the residence.
Alvarado has been charged with Trafficking Heroin/Morphine/Opium (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams) and Trafficking Cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams).
This arrest marks the second time in six months that Alvarado has been apprehended by C.A.S.T. for drug trafficking. On December 11, 2024, he was previously arrested after investigators seized 25.94 grams of crack cocaine and 6.7 grams of fentanyl. Charges in that case included multiple counts of trafficking and distribution, as well as tampering with evidence.
At Friday’s arraignment, Alvarado pled not guilty and was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
