Fall River man accused of impregnating daughter deemed dangerous, held without bail
A Fall River man who is accused of impregnating his daughter has been deemed dangerous, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn.
According to the Fulton County Georgia Sheriff’s Office, last month, the Fall River Police Department reached out to the Scorpion Unit with a 14-year-old victim, impregnated by her father. The Scorpion Unit, a special violent crime-suppression unit, acted quickly, fearing the suspect was planning on flying to Puerto Rico where he has family ties.
Roque Garcia-Ortiz is charged with 3 counts of Rape, 3 counts of Aggravated Rape of a child, and 1 count of Rape of child with force.
The Scorpion Unit located Ortiz at a hotel in East Point. He was brought in without incident.
Garcia-Ortiz was released from Fulton County custody late last month and was extradited to Massachusetts.
At today’s hearing, Quinn stated that Garcia-Ortiz was ordered held without bail.
