According to rankings released by Boston Business Journal , Fall River entered the top 20 this year in commercial tax rates in Massachusetts at number 19.
The median commercial property tax rate in Massachusetts fell about five cents in 2018 to $17.54 per $1,000 of assessed value, but not all rates in the state fell.
Fall River’s current rate for 2018 is $31.12 per $1,000 of assessed value. A raise of 48 cents. In comparison, Fall River ranked 205th in residential tax rate at $14.62 per $1,000 of assessed value.
New Bedford came in at number 6 with $35.65 per $1,000 of assessed value. Taunton also made the list at number 11.
