Fall River Library celebrating Snowball Follies and Mardi Gras, holding Fortnite Tournament
Bundle up nice and warm, slip on your winter mittens, hop in your snow boots, and schedule your visit to the Fall River Public Library for the “Snowball Follies!” The annual winter celebration of all things wintry and wonderful takes place Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, February 19 and includes free giveaways of winter survival kits, winter crafts, raffles and more! To visit the library, parents need to book an appointment by calling the Children’s Room at 508-324-2700, ext. 4.
Children who visit the library during this week can pick up their own “Winter Survival Kit” filled with all sorts of “snowy” surprises, participate in the “Snowflake Guessing Game,” and register to win a basket full of books and other goodies! Children may also have their picture taken in the Children’s Room with the fabulous, indoor snow scene backdrop, complete with igloo, snow, and arctic animals!
For parents and children unable to schedule an indoor visit, a curbside craft can be reserved by calling the Children’s Room and arranging a pick-up date and time. Mardi Gras Mask Kits will be offered during the week, containing all a child needs to make one decorative disguise, complete with Mardi Gras beads!
“Over the years, the Snowball Follies has become one of the library’s most loved winter events,” says Supervisor of Children’s Services, David Mello. “This is our way of still offering this program to our patrons in a fun and safe fashion.”
For some video gaming excitement, save the date: Thursday, February 24 at 4 pm. That’s when the library will sponsor a live, interactive Fortnite Tournament, co-hosted by One Up Games. Registration is required for this free event. To sign up, contact Taylor at 508-324-2700, ext. 123, or email tsilva@sailsinc.org.
For further information, call the library at 508-324-2700, ext. 4, or visit the library’s website at fallriverlibrary.org.
