Fall River Library cancels all events, library to remain open, gives options to get through staying at home
Health officials in many cities and states, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended postponing or cancelling gatherings and community events where large numbers of people are within arm’s length of one another. This measure may slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, which is transmitted through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. People are urged to maintain a “social distance” of at least 1 meter (3 feet) from others, which can be difficult at public events.
Therefore, to protect the health of everyone, and especially the most vulnerable members of the community, all public events at both branches of the Fall River Public Library are canceled effective immediately and until further notice. This includes storytimes, crafts, teen programs, movies, special events, and all other library programs.
The library will still be open for borrowing and regular services.
Library officials have compiled a list of online options for borrowing eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming music and video, and educational/research databases.
Some of the options available to help you cope in a “stay-at-home” world:

All of these are available from fallriverlibrary.org. Visit the library website today or call 508-324-2700, ext. 3, if you need assistance.
