Fall River hosting city clean-up, household hazardous waste drop-off, Interlachen tour in 3 separate events

(FALL RIVER, MA) – As the season winds down, residents are invited to take part in one final opportunity to give back and beautify the neighborhood.

The Ultimate Autumn Clean-Up will take place on Friday, October 25th, from 8AM to 10AM on Stafford Road in front of Maplewood Park.

This community event, held in collaboration with the Department of Community Maintenance, is a chance for neighbors to come together, enjoy the crisp fall air, and help keep our shared spaces clean and welcoming. All necessary supplies, including gloves, trash bags, and other clean-up materials, will be provided.

Whether you’re a long-time volunteer or joining for the first time, your help makes a difference! Let us end the year on a high note and show our pride in keeping our community clean, safe, and beautiful.

Pre-registration for an accurate number of volunteers is requested. To register as an individual or as a group, please email easousa@fallriverma.gov.

Also, Fall River residents (ID required) will be able to safely dispose of household hazardous waste on October 4th, 2025, from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Fall River Fire Department Headquarters – 140 Commerce Drive.

Accepted items include:

Brake fluid, gasoline, pesticides, drain cleaners, mercury items, paint remover, herbicides, pool chemicals, wood preservatives, fertilizers, weed killers, rodent poison, ammonia-based cleaners, and insect spray.

And finally, take a walk-through history for the Interlachen Walk and Tour on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, from 9 AM – 1 PM.

Explore the scenic North Watuppa Pond and visit the ruins of the Arctic Ice & Cold Storage Company and Colonel Spencer Borden’s Interlachen Mansion!

This is a free event with trolley rides from the Diman parking lot and handicap & limited parking onsite at 251 Stonehaven Road

There will also be a “get the lead out” table for free water service line inspections.

No dogs or animals allowed.
