Fall River hosting 2025 Children’s Holiday Parade, Tree Lighting Celebration

FALL RIVER, MA – The City of Fall River, Greater Fall River Re-Creation and the Fall River Parade committee have announced the 2025 Children’s Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration that will be taking place on Saturday, December 6th.

The Annual Children’s Holiday Parade will step off at 1:00 p.m. from Kennedy Park and travel down South Main Street to Government Center.

Following the conclusion of the parade, the Tree Lighting Celebration will commence from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to help spread holiday cheer by supporting the City of Fall River’s Annual Tree-Lighting Celebration,” said John McMahon, Senior Vice President of Community Engagement for BayCoast Bank. “This is a tradition that brings our community together to share in the joy and warmth of the season. We hope to see you there!”

“These events are a great way to kick-off the 2025 holiday season. I urge everyone to come out to enjoy the festivities and line the parade route to spread holiday cheer. We thank the Fall River Parade Committee and all our sponsors for providing one of the largest holiday parades in the area” said Mayor Paul Coogan.

This year’s Holiday Tree, which was donated by city residents Rebecca and Jordan Bosworth, is a Blue Spruce and stands at 43 feet tall and weighs in at 5,600 pounds.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. special guests will join Mayor Paul Coogan for the Tree Lighting.
