Fall River Harbormaster rescues disabled boat Sunday
Officials rescued a disabled boat Sunday evening.
Just before 7:00 p.m., a call came in for a boat that was stuck in the waters of the South Watuppa Pond behind the Meditech building on Martine Street.
The Harbormaster Department was called out to rescue the 19 foot boat.
The FRFD & FRPD located the lone boater in a rocky area and requested the Harbormasters to the scene. According to the Harbormaster Department, Mike Lamarine had just recently serviced and moved a boat up to the South Watuppa in case any calls came in. Harbormasters Paul Borges and Bob Smith responded and were able to make their way through the rocks to get to the stranded and cold boater.
The boat was successfully towed back to the boat ramp at Dave’s Beach.
