Fall River fugitive wanted on rape of a child, other charges, captured
A fugitive from Fall River has been arrested on multiple charges.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Brian Jackson was a fugitive from justice connected to a child rape case out of Fall River since last May when a warrant was issued for his arrest.
After an extensive investigation by members of Massachusetts State Police, information was obtained that showed the defendant was likely hiding out in the town of Goodwater, Alabama. On the evening of March 13, a state trooper from the BCDO office contacted the Coosa County Sheriff’s office in Alabama in regards to this defendant. Sheriff’s officers arrested the defendant in Goodwater without incident later that same night.
Last Friday, the defendant waived rendition in an Alabama court and will be returned to Massachusetts to be arraigned in Fall River District Court in the coming days on charges of two counts of rape of a child, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14 and one count of assault and battery of a minor.
The defendant is alleged to have repeatedly raped a young female child while he was living in Fall River.
