Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Stryker!

Stryker is the sweetest shepherd mix and he’s quickly becoming a staff favorite because he is 100% a good boy with a heart of gold, even if he is a bit of a cowardly lion. He’s about five years old and weighs around 56lbs and once he’s comfortable with you, he will ensure that all 56lbs of him fits on your lap or across your legs somehow. This boy is a snuggler and doesn’t need to be asked twice if he wants to curl up right next to you so if you’re looking for a boy that’s going to love you with every fiber of his being…it’s Stryker.

This poor boy is very, very nervous but still manages to be the absolutely sweetest bean. Even when he’s shaking or hiding behind your legs because there’s someone new walking down the hall, he still wants to be right there touching you or sitting beside you. He has the most soulful big brown cow eyes that will just melt your heart.

Stryker does well with other dogs but may be spooked if they come on too strong. He is afraid of cats, as he is afraid of most things, so dog-friendly cats only please. He did previously live with children and he was wonderful with them, but he’s so spooked right now that very little children may not be the best idea. Forever Paws will take it on a case-by-case basis depending on the family and their level of dog experience.

He hasn’t shown much interest in toys but did seem intrigued by the sight of a plush toy. He’s okay on a leash but, again, he’s nervous so may be a bit more pully when he gains some confidence and excitement. Forever Paws really wants to see this sweet boy find his people because he’s an absolute love that deserves a safe, soft place to land.
