Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Rocco!

This sweet boy with the frosted face is an eight-year-old lab mix weighing about 83lbs! He’s a big boy but isn’t the type to really throw his weight around. Rocco came to Forever Paws when the worst possible thing that could happen to a senior dog happened – his beloved owner passed away. Rocco has lost his dad, his home, and everything he’s ever known in an awfully short span of time so it’s understandable why he’s been so hesitant and unsure. They don’t know if he fully understands what’s happening, but they hope he knows that his dad didn’t just abandon him, didn’t leave him because he WANTED to…the unthinkable just happened.

Rocco is a good boy who is slowly, bit by bit, warming up to FP. Through it all, he hasn’t shown any aggression or defensiveness – just uncertainty. He’s an old guy that desperately wants somewhere safe and soft to land after losing his whole world. He’s great with other dogs and seems to light up around them. They can cat test him upon request. Older kids preferable so this guy’s golden years can be as calm and quiet as possible.

Rocco is going to need someone who has the time and the patience to build trust between them and to help him build that confidence back up.

He likes walks and butt scratches and squeaky toys. He likes naps. He likes sunshine. He likes treats (once you figure out what exactly it is that he likes).

Rocco will be a sweet, steady presence in your life and the perfect companion as soon as he knows that you’re someone he can count on.
