Fall River Forever Paws Abbott and Costello lost their home after their owner got sick

FALL RIVER, MA – Does anyone have room in their hearts and their house for the nice versions of Waldorf and Statler from The Muppets?
Abbott and Costello came to Forever Paws when their beloved dad got sick and could no longer care for them. Unfortunately, this means that some of the information they have about them is second hand as their dad had a friend surrender them. They are both around 6-8 years old and are gentle lil’ souls looking for a soft place to land together.
Abbott, the black and white shih tzu, weighs about 19lbs and is the bigger of the two by a tiiiiiny bit. Abbott is sweet, stubborn, and silly – all things you would expect from an aging little dog. He putters around like he belongs on a golf course in Florida talking about the weather and laughing loudly at his own jokes. Despite his age, he’s in good health aside from some benign skin masses (because he’s a lumpy old man) and the fact that he may need a dental in the future which should be expected.
Costello, the brown and white shih tzu, is about 16lbs. He’s just as sweet as his brother and just as stubborn. While Abbott should be on a golf course, Costello would be lounging on the beach in a speedo absolutely roasting in the sun without a care in the world. They are both lower energy, but Costello takes it to a whole new level. Unfortunately, Costello does have some issues with his hind legs and mild incontinence – he did come with a wheelchair which helps him scoot around like Vin Diesel, Fast and Furious style. Forever Paws has some vet records that cite arthritis in his back though it *COULD* be neurological and a visit with a neurologist may be necessary if his condition worsens.
For now, they are happy, mellow boys who get along with everyone. They would do well with kids 5+. They’re good on a leash (Costello does need some coaxing because sometimes he just decides he’s done moving). They are a bonded pair and do show signs of anxiety if separated for any length of time.
