Fall River Firefighters Union Endorses 9 Council Candidates, Snubs President Camara and VP Pereira
The Fall River Firefighters union Tuesday released their endorsements for City Council, notably snubbing President Joseph Camara and Vice President Linda Pereira while endorsing two non-incumbents instead.
Michael O’Reagan, the President of the Fall River Firefighters union released a statement endorsing the following Fall River City Councilors for next month’s election:
- Shawn Cadime
- Michael Canuel
- Michelle Dionne
- Paul Hart
- Brad Kilby
- Chris Peckham
- Cliff Ponte
- Andrew Raposo
- Ricky Tith
Notable non-endorsements were the two leaders of the city council President Joseph Camara and Vice President Linda Pereira while endorsing non-incumbents Michael Canuel and former City Councilor Chris Peckham.
“These candidates’ values align with ours—protecting the safety of both our members and the citizens of Fall River,” said Michael O’Reagan, President of the Fall River Firefighters, IAFF Local 1314. “We’ve seen the difference that teamwork and open communication can make, and we look forward to continuing that collaborative spirit with these individuals on the next City Council.
“The Fall River Firefighters believe that leadership built on trust, transparency, and respect is essential to keeping our city safe and moving forward. Local 1314 is confident that these candidates will continue our city’s prioritization of public safety and local well-being.”
