Fall River Firefighters looking to keep kids warm this winter
Fall River Firefighters looking to keep kids warm this winter.
UPDATE: Due to the generosity of Fall River Firefighters, IAFF Local 1314 and the community, some much needed coats were donated today to every student at Watson School and almost 500 coats in all will be donated.
Fall River Firefighters, IAFF Local 1314 have begun their Operation Warm Fundraiser.
They are looking to put as many brand new winter coats on as many kids as possible this season.
The drive plans to conclude in January, but if you want to donate to this worthy cause, now is as good a time as any as from now through Giving Tuesday (November 28th) online donations will be doubled.
Their goal is to raise $13,600 to help keep Fall River children warm.
For every $34 raised they can put a brand new made in the USA coat on a child.
Operation Warm has put over 700 new winter coats on local children in just the last two years.
In the past they have provided coats to kids in places such as Fonseca School, Viveiros School, The Boys and Girls Club, CD REC, YMCA, and Head Start. If your school or organization is interested, contact Jason Burns on Facebook here: Jason Burns or email at jason.burns@iafflocal1314.com.
