Fall River firefighters battling heavy flames at afternoon residential blaze

Fall River firefighters are currently working a Sunday afternoon fire.

A call came into dispatch just before 1:15 p.m. for flames showing from the 2nd floor of a multifamily home at 743 Hicks Street off of South Main.

Crews arrived to find a 3-story with heavy smoke and fire.

Preliminary information reveals that all residents reportedly evacuated from the structure.

Firefighters are still battling the blaze as of 1:45 p.m.

Utilities were shut down and a fire investigator was called to the scene.
