Fall River Fire, local departments, battle blaze that rips through 3 story home sending 6 to the hospital
The Fall River Fire Department and mutual aid battled a major fire in the city on Sunday.
Shortly after 9:15 p.m., the Fall River Fire Department responded to 310 Alden Street where first responders encountered heavy flames on the first floor.
As firefighters battled the blaze, flames reached up to the third floor and attic area.
According to scanner transmissions, two ambulances were requested at the onset for residents with possible smoke inhalation.
Two additional stretchers were requested for firefighters during the course of multiple departments fighting the flames.
In all, 6 were transported including the two firefighters.
The multifamily home appeared to be a total loss as firefighters fought late into the night.
The fire took place across the street from the Espirito Santo Church Feast where many onlookers watched the structure go up in flames.
