The Fall River Firefighter’s union also endorsed Jasiel Corriea in September. Here is a refresher on their statement.
“The Fall River Firefighters IAFF Local 1314 are proud to show support for Mayor Jasiel Correia II in his bid for re-election” said Jason Burns President of IAFF L1314.
A priority of every Fall River Firefighter is public safety and our union’s vote to make this endorsement recognizes Mayor Correia’s commitment to the Fire Department and our membership.
Under Correia’s administration the fire department has made a dramatic turnaround not only in desperately needed equipment but in overall department morale.
“Jasiel intuitively understands our issues and has worked diligently to address them whether it has been with new apparatus, new personal protective equipment, industrial washers and dryers to help prevent cancer or an increase in manpower we are safer today under his leadership than at anytime in recent memory.” said Burns
Our membership looks forward to working with the Mayor and his staff to continue improving public safety in our city.
“I am happy to accept the endorsement by the Fall River Firefighters union IAFF L1314. We have a terrific fire department and I look forward to continuing the great work we have begun” said Mayor Jasiel Correia II
