Fall River Fire extinguishes serious early morning fire in icy conditions
The Fall River Fire Department made quick work of a serious fire early this morning.
Just before 2:00 a.m., a call came in for flames showing at a multi-floor home at 1858 Pleasant Street which is above several city businesses.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames showing on the 3rd floor.
Heavy fire was also found in the ceiling and in the attic which caused severe damage to the third floor and above.
Firefighters dealt with hazardous icing conditions due to the cold temperatures in addition to a fire hydrant going out while fighting the blaze.
No injuries were reported, however, one person jumped to safety.
The fire was out before 3:00 a.m.
According to the Red Cross, 7 adults and 1 child were displaced and being assisted.
