Fall River Fire Department selling pink patches for American Cancer Society

The Fall River Fire Department is looking to generate some money and awareness for a worthwhile cause.

The pink patch project is a public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research. Fall River Fire wants to increase awareness about the life saving benefits of early detection and early intervention in the fight against breast cancer along with helping those in the community that are struggling with the disease.

According to Union President Jason Burns, The Fall River Fire Department, through Chief John D. Lynch, has partnered with the pink patch project to sell FRFD patches for $10 each. Proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society which operates at a resource center within St. Anne’s which benefits and supports local families. (Jason Burns apologizes for any confusion, but it has been discovered that St. Anne’s Oncology Unit itself could not accept the donations due to it being for profit).

For anyone interested in purchasing one or more of these, you can visit the Flint Station on Eastern Ave. Also Jason Burns will be at Mesa 21 tomorrow for dispersal at lunch.
