Fall River Fire Department responds to fire at homeless encampment

The Fall River Fire Department made quick work of a fire that took place Saturday morning.

Just before 9:30 a.m., a call came into dispatch for a tent on fire in the area of Harbor and Pine Streets near Heritage Heights.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that it was an encampment on fire.

EMS responded to evaluate the occupant of the tent.

The flames were extinguished within minutes.
