Fall River Fire Department rescues pet cat during fire at multi-family home
The Fall River Fire Department made a cat rescue at a residential fire on Tuesday afternoon.
According to scanner transmissions, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a call came into dispatch for smoke in the hallways at 52 Meadow Street, a home with 3 apartments.
The fire occurred between the 2nd and 3rd floor.
According to the Fall River Firefighter Union, crews also encountered exposure issues and members worked quickly to control the situation and protect nearby properties.
“Having the 4th firefighter assigned on three of the six apparatus was instrumental in limiting damage to the exposure building.”
The fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes.
Units operating at the fire included Engine 2, Engine 9, Engine 12, Platform 1, Ladder 4, Heavy Rescue 1, Car 2 (Incident Command), and Car 3 (Safety Officer).
No injuries were reported.
The building inspector was called to the scene.
