Fall River Fire Department puts out Tuesday evening fire, several pets lost
Many residents have been displaced after a Tuesday night fire in Fall River.
A call came in at approximately 9:45 p.m. for heavy flames showing from the third floor of an apartment complex on the corner of Borden and Fourth Streets.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the heavy flames shooting out of a window along with black smoke.
Residents of the apartment complex were evacuated.
Despite the heavy flames, the Fall River Fire Department quickly knocked down the blaze
According to the Red Cross, 27 of 35 apartments are affected.
According to residents, several pets were lost in the fire including dogs, a cat, and a rabbit.
One man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire is currently under investigation.
