Fall River Fire Department extinguishes fire at 3-story residence under construction

The Fall River Fire Department responded to a home under construction on Monday morning.

According to scanner transmissions, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a call came in for smoke coming from the door on the first floor of a 3-story residence at 160 Robeson Street.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a small fire in the walls.

A person believed to be in the building at the time was evacuated.

The home was reportedly being gutted by construction workers at the time of the blaze.

The fire was extinguished within minutes, and the building inspector was called to the scene. Utility workers were already in the area.
