Fall River Fire Department extinguishes early morning fire at south end business
A Fall River business was damaged Monday after an early morning fire.
According to Fall River Fire Deputy Neil Furtado, at 6:30 a.m., Fire Dispatch received a call from a private alarm for an activated smoke detector located at 353 Mariano Bishop Blvd., the Auto Gal Inc. car dealership.
Units responding to the scene included Engine 4, Engine 5, Ladder 2, and command unit Car 3.
Car 3 was first to arrive and observed smoke conditions as well as what was described as a small fire located inside the show room.
People could be seen taking boxes of items out of the building after the blaze.
All units were released by 7:00 a.m.
The dealership remains open.
The fire remains under investigation by Fall River Fire Department with assistance from the State Fire Marshals Office, Massachusetts State Police, as well as the Fall River Police Department.
