Fall River Fire Department extinguishes early morning blaze at 2 family home
The Fall River Fire Department battled an early morning blaze at a 2-family home on Sunday.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., a call came into dispatch for flames at 1543 Slade Street.
According to Chief Roger St. Martin, 3 engines, 2 ladders, 2 command vehicles, heavy rescue, 1 medic unit, and EMA responded to the scene led by District Chief Poissant.
The fire was under control by 4:30 a.m. with the flames extinguished at 4:45 a.m.
St. Martin stated that no injuries were reported.
Moderate damage occurred to the 2nd floor and attic with water damage to the 1st floor. Over $50,000 in damage in total.
All 4 residents were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Crews cleared the scene at 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
