Fall River Fire Department battles blaze at 6-family residence, rescues pets

The Fall River Fire Department battled a blaze Thursday afternoon at a multi-family home.

According to scanner transmissions, at just before 1:30 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a fire at a 6-family residence at 99 Aetna Street.

Upon arrival, crews located fire and heavy smoke in the area of the 3rd floor.

It appeared that all occupants exited the building.

Several pets were also rescued.

Fire and building inspectors were called to the scene.
