Multiple Fall River agencies combined to put out a fire and rescue a patient.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., EMS, Police, and Fire responded to President Avenue along the train tracks across from Burger King for a brushfire with a homeless male from an encampment possibly trapped.

According to AFSCME L-1202 Professional Paramedics of Fall River, a well-coordinated effort to extricate the patient with Fall River Firefighters, and the assistance of FRPD led to the patient being transported to RI Hospital – Trauma Center for injuries sustained from the fire.

The Fall River Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
