Fall River driver admits to being distracted before crashing into police cruiser, injuring officers
3 people were injured, and a driver was cited, after a collision with a Fall River Police cruiser on Thursday.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at just before 8:15 a.m., units responded to the intersection of South Main Street and Middle Street regarding a collision involving a marked Fall River Police cruiser and a Nissan Sentra.
According to the operator of the Nissan, his attention was drawn away from the red traffic signal by the GPS on his cellular telephone.
He was cited for failure to stop at a red light, and violation of the hands-free law.
The operator of the Nissan Sentra, and both officers in the marked cruiser were transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
