  1. Pizza Time (1539 Pleasant Street)

Greek owned, family run and serving undeniably fresh NY-style pies. Owner Xenofon Tzevelokos is friendly and enthusiastic to discuss his business which has been open for approximately ten years. During a recent visit, he was eager to share news that they have purchased a large retail space that opened next door and he has plans to expand within the coming months. If you order two large pizzas, you get a free cheese pizza and theirs is one of the best in town.

  1. Atlas Pizza (761 Eastern Ave)

Some people would be turned off to walk into an establishment and find 70s wood paneling on the walls and dated, cafeteria-style orange booth seating but real foodies know this is a sign that they’re in for a treat. Atlas doesn’t have fancy photo realistic menus or cozy seating but they don’t need to because their pizza pulls no punches. Authentic, fresh and flavorful. The chourico and green pepper pizza is a local treasure.

  1. Fiorentina Italian Kitchen (1833 N Main Street)

A hidden gem in the North End. You’ll quickly learn to expect a second or third meal from most of the dishes served here as portions are huge. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and while you’re there, try their desserts. They’re often busy and delivery can be slow so call ahead and pick up if you have the option. If you’re a fan of “white” pizzas, the four cheese is to die for and the pasta plates will serve 2-3 people for under ten bucks.

  1. Eastern Pizza (1196 Bedford Street)

Eastern’s fast delivery and courteous service is notable and if you love Greek style pizza and subs, they’re certainly worth a visit. The ingredients are fresh and food is served piping hot. If you like lots of toppings on your pizza, this could be your new favorite pizza joint. Try the Kostas special!

  1. Royal Pizza (4263 N Main Street)

If you’re in the far north, you won’t find a more pleasant family run pizza / sub shop than this. The owners are a pleasure to chat with and you’ll always leave the shop smiling. While the cheese pizza is just as delicious as you’d expect, Royal really shines when you dive into their sub menu. Friendly, fast service is a given and if you’re lucky, there may be some fresh baklava to take home with you.
