Fall River crews respond to scooter crash after man reportedly suffers head injury
A man was injured after a scooter crash Friday afternoon.
According to Det. Sergeant Matthew Mendes, an off-duty officer was on his way home at approximately 5:15 p.m. when he came upon what appeared to be an accident, involving a pedestrian, at the intersection of Rodman and Manchester Street. The officer called for assistance and stopped to provided aid.
It has been reported that a male was crossing the road on a motorized scooter when he was struck by a motor vehicle.
The male was transported to an area hospital, but his status is unknown at this time. According to scanner transmissions, the victim was bleeding from the head.
The motorist remained on scene.
The Major Case Unit and Accident Reconstruction are on scene investigating.
