Fall River crews responded Wednesday to a collision that caused injuries and a fatality.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately noon, several units were dispatched to an address on the 200 block of Joseph Drive (off of Meridian Street) after the department received a report of a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, it was determined that two individuals had been struck by a large moving van.
One individual has been transported to a local trauma center with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries. The second individual did not survive the impact with the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Major Crimes Division is conducting an investigation in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
