Fall River City Hall to provide lunch, water, and a/c to beat the heat
This weekend will be hazy, hot, and humid with the Excessive Heat Warning in effect. Due to the uncomfortable conditions, City Hall will be opening.
According to Administrative Assistant to Mayor Jasiel F. Correia II Cedalia Cabral, the City will be opening the City Hall atrium as a cooling center with A/C, cold water and lunch available.
The service will be open from 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
The First Step Inn at 143 Durfee Street will be a cooling center for the homeless population. The number for the shelter is (508) 679-8001.
Chew Park, Pulaski Park, and Father Travasso’s Park all have splash Pads that will be on from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Vietnam Veterans Memorial swimming pool (Lafayette Pool) will also be open 11:00am to 6:45pm.
