Fall River City Councilor, Public Safety Chairman, Chris Peckham issues statement on road conditions
Fall River City Councilor and Public Safety Chairman, Chris Peckham, issued a statement concerning today’s road conditions.
“I would first like to apologize for the conditions of the roadways. I have received numerous complaints this morning in regard to the conditions of the roads due to the snow. Although I still do sit as the Public Safety Chairman, I will refer all complaints to the Mayor’s office (508) 324-2000. I don’t know why the roads are in the condition that they’re in. There was no communication between the Mayor’s office and the council to my understanding. The Mayor should know why since he’s the one that makes the decisions on whether or not we pre-treat with brine or not, whether or not we send out trucks. I’m not putting this on DCM, Im putting this on the Mayor’s office. Please drive safely. This mishap by the administration happened at a time where travel is at its highest and should have been handled accordingly. Again, drive safely, if you don’t have to go out, don’t. The roads are atrocious, and we have minimal Police available due to road closures so please if you have a non-emergency and are waiting for a Police Officer, understand that our Police are currently tied up with road closures due to lack of preparedness and leadership from the administration.”

What’s going on down at DCM. Who really dropped the ball with road prep.? I mean it is Christmas Season and many are making merry. Blame it on the Omicron Variant. Voila we found the culprit. The invisible enemy can never be stopped!

This never happened under Jasiel Correia’s watch. He may have salted away some pot money but he also salted the roads.

“I’m the chair of the committee but I don’t know anything. I blame the mayor, don’t blame me. I’m the chairman though. Don’t forget that. Blame the Mayor. Don’t blame DCM. I don’t know anything even though I’m the chairman and it’s my responsibility to know.”
Thank God this guy is gone.
