Fall River CFO Sahady on medical leave, retiring, interim CFO in place
(FALL RIVER, MA- December 10th, 2021)- As of Friday, December 10th, the City of Fall River’s Chief Financial Officer, Mary Sahady, has taken an extended leave of absence. This leave will continue until her contract expires on January 5th, 2022. Mayor Paul Coogan issued the following statement:
“Mary Sahady has dedicated much of her career to the City of Fall River. As Chief Financial Officer, Mary has been a key part of my administration and will be sorely missed. I thank her for her years of service and hard work on behalf of the City. Above all, I wish Mary the best of luck in all her future endeavors.”
When asked about Sahady’s replacement, it was stated that at this time, the duties of CFO will be handled by a temporary appointment. A search for Sahady’s permanent replacement will begin in the coming weeks.
Sahady has been the Director of Financial Services since January of 2016.
Sahady is the second high ranking city official to announce a leave and retirement this week.
