Fall River boy holding drive to help the homeless

A young Fall River boy with a huge heart is showing that you are never too young to help those in your community and in a year like 2020, we could all use a heartwarming and positive story.

Maritza Lima couldn’t be prouder of her son Kobe Paiva and we can’t blame her.

Kobe, who is a 6-year-old that attends Henry Lord, is no stranger to being there for those who could use a helping hand and this year Maritza tells us that she and her son will be holding a toiletry drive for the homeless.

The toiletry drive will take place on December 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 594 Tucker Street in Fall River. If you can’t make it then, Maritza says that she and her son have you covered.

“December 19th is the big day, but for those who cannot make it that day and would like to donate, we are asking them to email me directly @ ritzakobe@gmail.com so we can make a private and safe arrangement to meet!”

The items they gather will be dropped off to a Fall River homeless shelter.

“We are trying our hardest to get the word out. Even one item will make a difference to someone!”

Due to public response, Kobe and Maritza have expanded their list of donated items that they are accepting.

“We will be excepting items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, mouthwash, shampoo/conditioner, combs/brushes, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, razors, bars of soap, and lotion. That is what we were looking for to get donated, but people have asked about hand warmers/foot warmers, coats, hats, and gloves and we would happily except those donations for the homeless shelter as well.”

If you have any concern with the future and the younger generation, children like Kobe shows that the world will be left in good hands.
